Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, if you are travelling, check with your airline before going to the airport and note the following:
- The use of a mask is compulsory for indoor public spaces and outdoors when impossible to keep the safety distance.
- Keep a safe distance from others.
- Follow the hygiene measures at all times.
- Collect your bags individually.
As from 0.00 hours on 15 May and until the end of the State of Alarm, internal maritime and air border controls are restored temporarily (Decree SND/439/2020). Entry into the national territory will only be allowed to nationals, residents in Spain, proof of the place of habitual residence is necessary, cross-border workers, healthcare professionals or elderly care workers going to their workplaces, residents in other EU countries or Schengen countries to get to their places of residence; people that are going to remain in Spain for work reasons (seasonal workers included) provided that they can prove it with documents and people travelling due to force majeure reasons when justified.
As from 0.00 hours on 15 May all international travellers coming into Spain must quarantine themselves for 14 days following their arrival (Decree SND/403/2020). During that period they must remain in their home or accommodation and they will go out only to buy food, pharmaceuticals or essential items, to go to healthcare centres or to carry out essential work activity and always wearing a facemask.
As from 0.00 hours on 23 March travellers entry through the Spanish external borders is restricted. Only the following will be allowed entry: nationals and Spanish residents; residents in other EU countries or Schengen countries to get to their places of residence; holders of a long-stay visa issued by a Member State going to the latter; cross-border sanitary or elderly care workers; transport of goods; diplomats; and due to force majeure reasons when justified.
